New Years Resolutions

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a safe and exciting weekend. I covered almost all of the events I was invited to except my friend Kellie's party. Boo : ( But three outta four ain't bad.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda a hater when it comes to new years resolutions. First off, why wait to make changes? (However, I do know it's helpful to have a set date to work towards). And second, the idea of changing your life because of the new year puts an awful lot of pressure on you and your goals. Plus, they rarely seem to stick...

Well... I made some anyway. Here's my list!

Eat Healthy. Ok so along with everyone else in America, I wanna lose weight, bleh. Back in the day I was ripped. I lost about 25 pounds, only to gain 17 back. BUMMER. But you know what? I did it once and I can certainly do it again. And guess what? I joined Weight Watchers. I hope it goes well. Another part of this little goal is trying to be vegan. I did real good and stocked up my fridge with good and healthy things and I reeeeaaally wanna succeed at this one. (Any pointers my vegan friends??)

Get active.  At work, the other accounting ladies and I already walk almost every day (except the rare instances when its raining or someone forgot their shoes). I wanna keep that up and get faster and faster. Plus, I plan to head to the gym at least twice a week. That's where I'll start. Aaaand I looove hiking so I wanna get my bum in gear and get going!

Stop thinking so much. Ok so this one just came to me but I think its a good one. I am not sure how to accomplish this, or really even measure it (ideas?). But I do a lot of over-thinking. I'm often 5 steps ahead of everything and honestly it kinda sucks. I wanna learn to be "in the moment", to live life instead of trying to controll it.

Get my tattoo. For real. Soon.

What do you wanna do this year? Let's make it UH-MAZING : )

I miiiiissssed yooouuu!

I'm back! I had a super fun time in Nashville and met loads of cool folks (with super cute accents). I was really bummed to discover that the camera I brought was missing a memory card : ( Boo. So no pictures. But trust that it was super lovely. It snowed while I was there and we ate cookies and drank cocoa and everyone went sledding (on cookie sheets!I didn't go sledding, though. Of course, this silly ol Phoenix girl was ill-prepared for cold weather).

I got back last week but tried to avoid technology for a bit. It was bittersweet. It was kinda nice to be disconnected for a bit. But I missed you all a whole bunch!!

On a different note- I have spent a while thinking about everything. I have decided to put my Etsy on hold for a bit. I really want to spend more time working on the GROWop and on this blog! If you haven't already noticed, I tend to spread myself a little thin. Aaaand I also tend to be a little all over the place, haha. I think it would be really beneficial for me to refine my goals, hobbies, and style. So I was wondering if you might help me? What do you like about this blog? What would you like to see more or less of?

Four Simple Goals Revisited

We have decided to do craft night more often and I am so excited. Craft night will now be every other Wednesday (the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month) from 5-8pm at 908 N. 6th Street (at Butter Toast Boutique).

That means A) more time to hang with my favorite crafty folks, and B) built in time for working on my four simple goals.

Goal three was to spend more time being creative. I've been doing pretty good with this goal. In fact, today I printed out a weekly craft journal to make crafting appointments each day.  So, while I spend a lot of time holed up at home creating, its gonna be great to share and be inspired by others.

Goal four was to bake more. Having craft night every other week gives me a reason to make delicious treats. And since my dear friend is vegan, I am really excited to challenge myself to master vegan baking.  Yahoo!

OOOOH Idea! How do you feel about a blog craft night? If your interested let me know by comment or email and I'll work out the logistics : )

I also wanted to extend a warm welcome to new followers. I've gotten quite a few more followers of the past week or so and I'm so excited! Thanks so much for your support. I can't wait to get to know you!

4 Simple Goals

I have really been trying to make some changes in my world so Elsie's 4 Simple Goals (before 2011) challege really came at the perfect time! Here are mine!

1. Take more photos. I would love to take more of my own photos for my blog. I think it will be so fun to take pictures everywhere I go and learn more about photography as I practice.

2. Create a super inspiring home. Since I just moved, I would really love to create a home that is exciting and inspiring, cozy and warm; a place that really feels like home.

3. Schedule time each day for creativity. I have so many ideas all the time so I am going to plan specific time into each day for my little creative projects. By the time winter craft fairs roll around I should be all ready with lots of goodies to sell.
4. Bake lots! I LOVE baking and, like photography, would like to bake a lot more often. I need lots of practice so that I can become a pro. So friends, prepare for lots of delicious goodies : )
What kinds of things would you like to do before the end of the year?
